IvySys Wins Army CBRN Defense Innovation Contract to Enable AI for Integrated Early Warning
Company Extends Multisource Data Generation Capabilities to Support CBRN IEW
ARLINGTON, Va. — July 1, 2021 — IvySys Technologies, an innovative synthetic data solutions and services company, announced today that it has been awarded a Phase 3 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract by the US Army Contracting Command for support of the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense (JPEO-CBRND) SPARK program for innovation. The program aims to spur innovation in transformation capabilities such as:
Modernizing Biological Defense (including medical and non-medical approaches)
Integrated Early Warning
Unencumbering the War Fighter
Approaches to countering emerging threats
Integration with non-CBRN defense capabilities

Under this contract, IvySys plans to investigate the feasibility of using synthetic data generation, guided by threat models, to train AI models to detect adversarial threats from publicly available information (PAI) to cue, direct, and/or reconfigure DoD sensor network assets for increased detection sensitivity. The novel synthetic data generation capabilities will produce labeled problem-specific contextual data sets to enable the rapid application of operational AI tools to future CBRN tactical scenarios.
This SPARK innovation contract builds on IvySys Technologies’ extensive experience developing AI-readiness capabilities in support of the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community for threat detection applications.
